Comment on updates to the 2026-2029 TIP
TMACOG is accepting public comment on changes to the Fiscal Year 2026-2029 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).

The TIP is a list of specific projects that implement the policies laid out in the Transportation Plan. TIP projects are recommended by project sponsors from around the region, including cities, villages, county engineers, transit providers, and the Ohio Department of Transportation over a four-year period. TMACOG’s Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Policy Board votes on the final approval of the TIP project list and is responsible for considering and approving changes brought forth in TIP amendments.
TMACOG’s Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) has recommended two amendments to the Fiscal Year 2026-2029 TIP, which will be presented to the MPO Policy Board at its next meeting. The TAC recommended approvals of TIP Amendment #1 at its meeting on July 16 and of TIP Amendment #2 at its meeting on August 20.
Amendments #1 and #2 would adjust funding, modify, and/or add five projects to the 2026-2029 TIP.
TIP Amendment #1 (click to read) addresses four projects:
- PID 117233 Wood CR9 5.86 Lime City Widening (addition of the Detailed Design project phase): MPO-funded CMAQ project to widen Lime City Road at the intersection of SR-795, including right-of-way acquisition, new traffic signals, pavement reconstruction, drainage modifications, and other necessary related scope items;
- PID 117677 IR 475 4.40 Interchange (addition of the Detailed Design project phase): A project to convert the I-475 interchange at Airport Highway (SR-2) from a partial cloverleaf interchange to a diverging diamond interchange. Widen the existing LUC-2-1026 bridge over IR-475 to accommodate the necessary lanes associated with the diverging diamond interchange. Perform necessary related work;
- PID 122347 WOO SR 51 4.04 Northwood Roundabout (project deletion): Project in the City of Northwood to construct a modern roundabout at the existing signalized intersection of Woodville Rd (SR 51) and Lemoyne Rd, including necessary related scope element. This project was withdrawn by the City of Northwood.
- PID 122751 LUC CR 73 0.34 McCord Rd Holland (project scope change, additional cost): Project in the Village of Holland (Lucas County) to rehab the extents of the roundabout at the McCord Road, Hall Street, and North Mall Drive intersection and related improvements. Scope includes new raised crosswalks, high visibility pavement markings, curb ramp upgrades, widening the radius of the southeast exit path, and other necessary related scope.
TIP Amendment #2 (click to read) addresses one project:
- PID 121623 Wood Slippery Elm Trail Overlay Phase 1 (project deletion): Project to resurface approximately 7 miles of the Slippery Elm Trail in Wood County. Project includes an asphalt overlay from the trail’s southern terminus at E. Broadway St. in North Baltimore to SR-281. Includes spot pavement planing, spot full depth repairs, and pavement markings. This project that was previously funded by the TIP will proceed with a different funding source.
The MPO Policy Board will meet to consider approval of these amendments on Wednesday, September 3.
