Comment on updates to 2024-2027 Transportation Improvement Program

Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments (TMACOG) is accepting public comment on recommended changes to the Fiscal Year 2024-2027 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).

The TIP is a list of specific projects that implement the policies laid out in the Transportation Plan. TIP projects are recommended by project sponsors from around the region, including cities, villages, county engineers, transit providers, and the Ohio Department of Transportation over a four-year period. TMACOG’s Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Policy Board votes on the final approval of the TIP project list and is responsible for considering and approving changes brought forth in TIP amendments.

TMACOG’s Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) has recommended the following amendment to the Fiscal Year 2024-2027 TIP be presented to the MPO Policy Board at its next meeting:

• TIP Amendment #8 (click to read): Adds and/or modifies six projects to the Fiscal Year 2024-2027 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), including:
  
  • PID 123161 TARTA 2025 DERG Bus Replacement (project addition): Replace three model year 2008 diesel powered transit buses with three new model year 2026 electric powered transit buses;
  • PID 118581 TARTA 2025 Bus, Facility, Equipment (addition of four project events): Events pertain to bus shelter, miscellaneous equipment, customer service software, and ticket vending machine;
  • PID 123083 TARTA 2025 OWMP Routes Expand (project addition): Pertains to operating assistance for pilot frequency increase;
  • PID 117062 TARTA Small Vehicle Replacement (project event addition): Event pertains to 35’ diesel bus replacement;
  • PID 118583 TARTA 2026 Bus, Facility, Equipment (three project event additions and seven project event modifications): HUB renovation project; Central Avenue Lot Improvements Phase 1; Central façade, board room, paratransit renovation; replace nine 35’ diesel buses; paratransit vehicle replacement; general operating assistance; and transit center development;
  • PID 118584 TARTA 2027 Bus, Facility, Equipment (one project event modified): Event pertains to transit center development A&E.

The MPO Policy Board will meet to consider approval of the amendment on Wednesday, March 5.
