Public Transit Committee
Purpose
To increase and improve the public transit system in the TMACOG region.
Activities
In 2016 the Committee began its first year as a stand-alone TMACOG committee. Formerly a part of the Public Transit & Passenger Rail Committee, the new Public Transit Committee is integrated with the Transportation Advisory Committee, a committee formed in 2013 to discuss transit and personal mobility issues as the result of the Toledo Area Partnership Project grant. The Public Transit Committee works with TMACOG staff to analyze public transportation needs, identify options that will improve personal mobility, and strengthen economic health. It works to implement the priorities of the “On the Move” regional transportation plan, including a more regional public transit system.
Join the Committee
We are seeking additional members to work towards improved public transit for the northwest Ohio/southeast Michigan region. For more information, contact Marissa Bechstein via email or at 419-241-9155 ext. 1117 or Marc VonDeylen via email or at ext.1136.
