National Bike to Work Day “Bike Bus” to travel from Olander Park to Downtown Toledo
Lake Erie West Regional Council will coordinate a community “Bike Bus” traveling from Olander Park to Downtown Toledo.
In celebration of National Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 15, Lake Erie West Regional Council will coordinate a community “Bike Bus” traveling from Olander Park to downtown Toledo, with riders joining at designated stops along the route.
Observed nationwide each May during National Bike Month, Bike to Work Day encourages commuters to choose bicycling as a healthy and traffic-reducing alternative to driving. Communities across the country organize rides, pit stops, and public events to highlight the growing importance of safe bicycling infrastructure and active transportation.
MEDIA OPPORTUNITY
A mini press event and rider gathering will take place at University Hall on the campus of The University of Toledo prior to the group’s departure to downtown Toledo. Lake Erie West Executive Director Sandy Spang will be available for interviews regarding regional bicycle initiatives, active transportation, and community mobility.

BIKE BUS SCHEDULE
- Stop 1: Olander Park. Depart 7 a.m.
- Stop 2: Adventus Climbing. Depart 7:25 a.m.
- Stop 3: In front of University Hall. Arrive approximately 7:45 a.m.; media availability and social gathering; depart 8:05 a.m.
- Stop 4: Old West End Arboretum. Depart 8:30 a.m.
- Stop 5: One Government Center. Arrive approximately 8:45 a.m.
The return Bike Bus will depart from One Government Center at 4:45 p.m., following the same route in reverse.
