Lake Erie West Regional Council to Host 30th Transportation Summit
30th Annual Transportation Summit: Decades of Mobility Leadership
TOLEDO, Ohio — The Lake Erie West Regional Council (formerly the Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments, or TMACOG) will host its 30th Transportation Summit on Friday, March 27, at The Premier in Toledo. The milestone event brings together regional leaders, transportation professionals, planners, engineers, public officials, and community stakeholders to explore the projects, policies, and innovations shaping mobility across Northwest Ohio.
Celebrating three decades of advancing transportation leadership, the Summit serves as the region’s premier forum for discussing how people and goods move today and how systems must evolve to meet future needs. Attendees will hear the latest updates on major roadway and infrastructure projects, emerging construction technologies and materials, passenger rail developments, and the critical connections between transportation, housing, and workforce access.
“For 30 years, the Transportation Summit has convened the people who plan, build, manage, and rely on our transportation system,” said Sandy Spang, executive director of Lake Erie West Regional Council. “As our region grows and changes, collaboration becomes even more essential. This event highlights how strategic investments and partnerships can strengthen mobility, expand opportunity, and improve quality of life across Northwest Ohio.”
The day-long program will feature expert panels and presentations, including a comprehensive regional roadway construction update; a session on innovations in asphalt and roadway maintenance; an update on passenger rail expansion efforts from All Aboard Ohio; and a keynote discussion examining how transportation planning intersects with housing patterns and workforce needs. Panelists will include representatives from organizations such as The University of Toledo and TARTA.
Professional development credit will be available for attendees.
