Public feedback will help shape updates to the region's federally recognized Areawide Water Quality Management Plan (commonly known as the “208 Plan”).
The survey (approximately 10 minutes) is now open and will remain available through Aug. 1. There will also be an opportunity to enter a raffle for a $100 VISA gift card after completing the survey. Complete the 208 Plan Resident Survey
The survey is anonymous and asks residents to share input on topics including:
- Stormwater
- Non-point source pollution
- Home sewage treatment systems (septic systems)
- Wastewater
- Drinking water
Why it matters
The 208 Plan serves as a key framework for how communities across the Lake Erie West region address water quality challenges and infrastructure needs. It is used by local governments, agencies, and partners to guide decisions that impact public health, environmental protection, and long-term regional sustainability. As part of the update process, Lake Erie West is placing a strong emphasis on community input to ensure the plan reflects real-world experiences and priorities.
About the 208 Plan
Lake Erie West’s 208 Plan is updated annually in collaboration with wastewater management agencies throughout the region. The plan is continuously refined to reflect:
- Changes in environmental laws and regulations
- Evolving water quality data and conditions
