Field Day for Water and Wastewater Operators

TMACOG and the Great Lakes Rural Community Assistance Partnership are offering a full day of free, hands-on training focused on drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater operations.

This event is an excellent opportunity for facility operators and staff who work with infrastructure to earn continuing education credits necessary for maintaining professional licensure.

Courses are tailored for each profession and offer additional flex choices based on your interests. Participants will also have the get to tour Bowling Green’s drinking water or wastewater facilities (space is limited).

Best of all, the event is completely free, including lunch!

This comprehensive training will include field and classroom sessions that may cover:

• Water Infrastructure: Information and demonstrations on valve exercising, hydrant flushing, backflow prevention, service line material identification, water audits, and water quality monitoring.
• Wastewater/Stormwater Management: Case studies and practical sessions on inflow and infiltration investigation, camera inspection, nozzle selection for sewer line cleaning, and smoke testing.
• GIS Data Sets: Developing quality data for planning and management.
• Drone Demonstration: Using drones for condition assessment and monitoring.
• Funding Resources: Identifying and securing project funding.
• Cybersecurity: Strategies and best practices to ensure the security and resiliency of critical infrastructure.
• Construction Management: Best practices for protecting natural resources and infrastructure.
• Green Infrastructure: Learn about sustainable solutions for stormwater management.
• Contingency and Emergency Response Planning: Prepare for potential emergencies to minimize service disruptions and protect public health.
