Program Manager – Transportation Planning

TMACOG is seeking a visionary Program Manager to oversee our reorganized Transportation Planning division and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of transportation in our region. This manager of transportation planning activities will report directly to the Director of Transportation.

As a Program Manager, you will be at the forefront of innovation, collaborating with a talented team and stakeholders to develop and implement transportation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of planners focused on multiple modes of transportation, including freight, rail, active, public transit, and advanced air mobility.
- Project Management: Oversee the planning, design, and creation of transportation plans.
- Public Involvement: Lead public involvement processes, including public meetings, workshops, and online engagement to gather input and build consensus.
We are looking for a candidate who possesses:
- Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- A strong understanding of urban planning principles, methodologies, and best practices, preferably as it relates to all modes of transportation.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in urban or regional planning or a related field.
- A bachelor’s degree with extensive experience in this field. A master’s degree in urban planning, public administration, or a similar field is strongly desired.

Salary and job title will be determined commensurate with experience and education. The following title and starting salary range will be considered for this position:
Program Manager: $70,000-$95,000
