2023 Summer Caucuses and Panel Forum with State Lawmakers

Registration and a breakfast reception begin at 7:45 a.m., followed by caucus breakout sessions at 8:15 a.m. The panel forum featuring state legislators from northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan will offer you a chance to ask questions beginning at 10 a.m., followed by lunch.

Jim Hoops represents District 81 in the Ohio House of Representatives, which includes Fulton, Henry, and Williams counties, as well as the northern portion of Defiance County. He is currently serving his third full term as state representative and is also the majority whip for the 135th General Assembly. He is a member of the Finance Subcommittee on Health and Human Services and the Finance, Government Oversight, and Public Utilities committees.

Rep. Hoops previously served in the Ohio House from 1999-2006 and as Henry County auditor from 1985-1998. He was the associate vice president for strategic initiatives at Northwest State Community College from 2016-2019. He also served as associate vice president of finance for American Municipal Power, Inc. for seven years. In this position, he was part of a team that financed over $6 billion to construct power plants that included hydro, coal, and natural gas.

Rep. Hoops and his wife currently reside in Napoleon, Ohio.

Josh Williams represents the 41st District in the Ohio House of Representatives, which encompasses the City of Sylvania and North Toledo, the City of Oregon, Berkey Township, the Village of Harborview, and the shores of Lake Erie to Reno Beach. He is serving his first term in the House.

Rep. Williams is vice chair of the Criminal Justice Committee. He is also a member of the Economic and Workforce Development, Higher Education, and Primary and Secondary Education committees.

Prior to being elected to the House, Rep. Williams was a criminal defense and personal injury associate at Groth and Associates. He is a graduate of the University of Toledo College of Law and is currently a professor at Adrian College, where he teaches constitutional law, criminal law, and criminal procedure in the undergraduate criminal justice programs.
