TMACOG Bike Month 2022
In-Person and On a Bike
May is Bike Month. Let's ride!
Bicycles are soaring in popularity, and families are eager to learn where and how they can ride safely. Most people in our region live within 10 miles of their job, and more roads now accommodate bikes with marked lanes or sidepaths. Give it a try and don’t forget to log in your ride.
During the month of May, TMACOG supports recreational bicycle riders and works to encourage the use of bikes for commuting and errands with two challenges:
Take the TMACOG Bike Trail Challenge

Again this year, we’re presenting the May Bike Month Challenge, when you can record your rides and earn prizes! Download the trail log online fillable form check off your rides all month and send your form to TMACOG by June 3. Click here for an interactive map of all of our region's trails.
All participants will get a highly visible riding shirt (while supplies last) that tells motorists that bikes may use full lane. People who complete at least part of each of 13 trails in the challenge will also get Gohio Commute drawstring bag. Complete every section of the 13 trails (27 rides) in the challenge and you’ll get a set of Gohio Commute bike lights, too. Send a copy of the completed form to Lance Dasher at dasher@tmacog.org or mail it to TMACOG, PO Box 9508, Toledo OH 43697-9508. While supplies last, substitutions may be necessary.
Gohio Challenge

2. Start logging your trips on the webpage. Every bike or bike/bus combo trip earns 2 points. (All TARTA buses have bus racks.)
3. Win prizes
• 10 points: drawstring bag
• 20 points: bike light
• 40 points: bike helmet or cooler
Ride your bike back and forth to work and you could earn 40 points in 10 working days! At the end of May, TMACOG will mail out your reward. Even after Bike Month is over, people can still earn points and prizes for any transportation that is less polluting: take the bus, walk, ride a bike and log those trips. Gohio Commute is your way to find a carpool partner or meet up with fellow walkers or bike riders. All prizes are while supplies last. There may be substitutions.
