There is growing interest in the economic benefits of modern passenger rail and exciting developments around the Midwest. People interested in new high speed rail service are invited to attend the Passenger Rail Forum luncheon Monday, October 17, at 11:30 a.m.–1:15 p.m. at the Toledo Club, 235 14th Street in Toledo. (Doors open at 11 a.m.)

The program will look at the impressive progress on the Detroit-Ann Arbor-Chicago high speed route with a description of the benefits to local communities. Featured speakers are Tim Hoeffner, Office of Rail, Michigan Department of Transportation; and Michael Benham, Ann Arbor Transportation Authority.

The forum is hosted by Northwest Ohio Passenger Rail Association (NOPRA) and the TMACOG Public Transit & Passenger Rail Committee. It is open to the public (fee is $25, special student rate $15). Please register by October 11, 2011 by contacting
