Regional Transportation Summit Agenda
The transportation summit for northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan has a full agenda – from a presentation by a new ODOT Deputy Director, to a “complete streets” expert from Chicago, and a session about road repair on a budget.
Transportation planners, community leaders, engineers, economic development professionals, contractors, and others interested in regional transportation are invited to attend the 2011 Transportation Summit, Friday, April 8, 8 a.m-2 p.m. at the Grand Lobby of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza.
The morning session will include two workshops:
- Complete streets (retrofitting for bicycles and pedestrians)
with a presentation by John N. LaPlante, P.E., P.T.O.E. (Professional Traffic Operations Engineer), Director of Traffic Engineering for T.Y. Lin International
- Stretching dollars with alternative approaches to road reconstruction, a panel moderated by Robin Whitney, Commissioner, City of Toledo, Division of Engineering Services
Following the workshops will be a luncheon with keynote speaker Todd Audet, new Deputy Director of ODOT District 2. Mr. Audet will speak on the transportation outlook for the coming year.

For all activities including luncheon, the cost for TMACOG members and active committee members is $40, non-members $60, and students $25. For sessions only (no luncheon), members $25, and non-members $35.
Documentation will be provided to Professional Engineers for CPD credits. Certified Planners (AICP) who attend the 2011 Transportation Summit may be eligible for Certification Maintenance (CM) credits. CM credit has been applied for and approval is expected.
