Member Highlight Rossford Schools
The Rossford School District serves about 1,900 students living within the cities of Rossford and Northwood and the townships of Perrysburg and Lake. Students attend three K-6 elementary schools ( Eagle Point, Glenwood, and Indian Hills), Rossford Junior High, and Rossford High School. The school district is currently considering how to address its aging school facilities. Parents and community members concerned with educating children can see a video tour of the district’s buildings and hear from students, teachers, and administrators.
Administrators of the district are involved in government activities in city, county, and the entire region. TMACOG assisted the district with a recent Safe Routes to School grant. Rossford School District’s Superintendent, Dr. Susan Lang said, “TMACOG has been most helpful for the Rossford School District. Recently, our school district and city were jointly awarded a sidewalk grant. Other grants and opportunities have come our way directly tied to the affiliation with TMACOG.”
Safe Routes to School is a program of ODOT, which assists schools with projects that will help children cycle or walk to school more safely. Grants can pay for sidewalk construction, safer intersections, or bike paths that are part of a school travel plan.
