SWAG Receives Outstanding Performance Award
The TMACOG Stormwater Action Group was recognized for its leadership promoting construction site erosion control practices. In 2009, the Stormwater Action Group invited Dan Ross of the US Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service to hold a training sessions to prepare Toledo area engineers and stormwater managers for Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) candidates for the certification test, administered subsequently. Individuals who obtain CPESC certification are proficient in inspecting construction and post-construction activities. ODOT requires that Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans be designed by a Professional Engineer who is CPESC certified. CPESC training brings greater expertise to northwest Ohio’s professional community to design construction projects and meet stormwater permit requirements. The Stormwater Action Group, along with eight other organizations, received the award at the Ohio Stormwater Association Conference in June.
