Progress on Fort to Port: U.S. 24

The Fort to Port project is a series of construction projects that began in 2006 that are converting U.S. 24 from a two-lane road to a four-lane divided highway extending from Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Toledo. The whole series of projects are on schedule to be completed in July 2012.

A total of eight projects are taking place in Ohio through Paulding, Defiance, Henry and Lucas counties to complete the expansion of the route. Motorists can now see major elements under construction in Lucas County. Most of the work to re-align and widen the road is taking place off the current U.S. 24, with the exception of construction in Maumee. The ODOT website is tracking progress here.

Through November 2010, Neapolis-Waterville Road, between Noward Road and Waterville-Monclova Road, will be closed for overpass construction. ODOT has established a detour using Finzel Road, SR 64, and Waterville-Monclova Road.
